Creative Ways to Stay Active

Sometimes going for a walk or run to stay active can get boring and redundant, definitelyif you’re doing it every day. That’s why sometimes you should let the creative side of you come out and come up with other ways to stay active. Whether that’s with your friends, family, or just yourself there are many ways to stay active than just running or walking. 

There are two ways to get creative when it comes to staying active. You could either create/play a game or participate in (usually) outdoor activities.  Both can be quite fun and don’t involve much effort. It all depends on whether you’re willing to spend money or want to save money. 

Listed below are some games and outdoor activities you should try the next time you (and your friends) are looking to mix things up on staying active!! 

1. Bike Ride

Whether it’s at home or on a trip, a bike ride is always a fun way to stay active. Bike riding is something you can do with your friends. Even just riding around the neighborhood by yourself can be a fun way to mix it up to stay active. 

2. Hiking

If you live close to trails or are on a trip, going for a hike is a great way to stay active and see places you may not have seen before. Hiking can bring out the inner child in you and maybe you’ll even just want to go on a little adventure. 

3. Volleyball

Whether it’s salt and pepper or a full game of sand or grass volleyball, volleyball can be a fun way to stay active and hang out with friends. 

4. Trampolining

A trampoline is a great way to get in a good workout. As well as a fun way to hang out with friends. You could do some jump squats or play a game of mummy. 

5. Rollerblading

It may sound a little old school, but rollerblading can be such fun! You can go fast and race your friends or go for a nice stroll and talk with your friends. 

6. Skiing (water/snow)

Water and snow skiing are so fun! If you have the chance this is something that is such a great way to stay active. Even if it’s just for a day, speeding down the slopes, racing with your friends is something you won’t forget. Also when water skiing, it may be hard to get up but once you do it is such an exhilarating and freeing feeling.

7. Paddleboarding

Paddleboarding can be a really good/hard workout. It also is fun to just hang out on and be with friends while at the lake or on vacation. 

8. Water Balloon Fight

A water balloon fight is a great way to stay active and have a good time with your friends Let the kid inside you come out and have some fun. 

9. Kayak/canoeing

Kayaking/canoeing down the river for the day is not only a fun way to stay active but also something fun to do with friends and family for a day activity. 

10. Dance Party

A dance party is the most FUN way to be active and have fun with your friends. Turn on some throwbacks or some Taylor Swift and just dance around. It is such fun and no one cares how foolish you may look because odds are they look just as foolish as you.
